I’ll post something in English today, because I’m tired, and hungry, and I’ve been working all day long.  Sorry!

Just got back from Zhoushan 舟山, where I spent the weekend.  It was my first time to leave the city of Dinghai 定海, and actually see some of the surrounding landscape of the Zhoushan islands.

Zhujiajian 朱家尖 was beautiful.  At first baby didn’t want to go into the park, because it cost thirty yuan each, but I’m glad we did, because sixty yuan is a small price to pay – especially seeing as we had so much fun!

The beach we went to was near deserted, because a cold wind was blowing, but the wind could not cool the happiness in our hearts.  Just walking along the beach, laughing and joking, dipping our feet into the icy water and racing along the sands in the beach buggy, were all simple pleasures, but all pure too.  

Just for that one Saturday, we had no worries, and nothing to darken our thoughts.  All we had was each other, and that was enough.

Sunday came, and the real world came back.  I had to leave, baby had to host a debating competition, and we were once more torn apart by necessity.  
The happier we were on Saturday, the sadder it made our parting on Sunday.  But each time we leave each other, there is the knowledge that sometime in the near future we will see each other again, and sometime after that, a time will come when we no longer need to be apart.

In Zhujiajian baby and I saved a few tadpoles from dying on the cold stone steps, by pushing them back into the water.  Maybe after we left they would become stranded again, and no-one would come along to save them, but they had a few more seconds, a few more minutes, maybe even days, to swim around and enjoy life.

Good things happen to good people, and baby, you are the best thing that ever happened to me.
