1 中国位于亚洲大陆的东部，太平洋的西岸，陆地面约960万平方公里，仅次于俄罗斯和加拿大。
2 中国不仅拥有世界总人口的将近四分之一，而且随着中国经济的高速发展，已经形成了旺盛的市场需求。
3 近十几年间，改革开放使中国的经济有了令人瞩目的发展，人民生活不断提高，综合国力明显增强，创造了中国历史上前所未有的奇迹。
4 中国的经济建设需要和平国际环境，需要同世界各国友好合作。中国将坚定不移地奉行独立自主的和平外交政策。中国一向重视在和平共处五项原则的基础上发展同亚洲国家的睦邻友好关系。近年来通过有关各国的共同努力，中国同亚洲周边国家的关系得到进一步的改善和发展。
