There were a couple of affective lovers in a very quiet and beautiful small city .Every day,they went out together to the seaside hand in hand to see the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening .Whoever met them no matter by accident or on purpose would like to stop to appreciate and envy them .

      While a tragedy was put on on a foggy morning ,on their way to the seaside they happened to suffer from a traffic accident .Unfortunately the girl lost her consciousness and had to lie in bed in hospital (while the boy was not injured badly in the accident ,he got well soon after the accident ).Seeing his lover lie quiet in bed ,the boy was heart-broken ,he'd rather it was he that lie in bed instead of his lover .In daytime ,the boy would call his lover's name all the while sitting beside the bed ;In the evening he would hurry to the nearest church to pray to the God for his lover's coming to.His tears nearly dried up .

      Ultimately,the God was moved by the boy's sincerity.He asked:"Are you ready to substitute your life for your lover's ?"The boy answered without any hesitation :"Ready ."In fact ,it sounded like rather a promise of love than a staunch answer ."Ok."the God replied :"I can let your lover regain her consciousness as soon as possible ,but in return ,you'll have to be a dragonfly in the next three years ,are you willing to be that dragonfly for her ?""No problem."The boy said to himself that he even could sacrifice his own life ,how couldn't he be a dragonfly for her for three years ?

      The boy really became a beatiful dragonfly at daybreak .Then ,he saied goodbye to the God flying in a hurry to the hospital for he was ancious to know his lover's condition .Seeing his girlfriend talking with the doctor the dragonfly relaxed a little though he couldn't hear anything .

      The girl looked up after several days treatment in hospital ,but she wasn't happy for the boy's disappearance .She looked around for the boy but nobody knew his whereabouts .The boy already becoming a dragonfly was always flying around her .But he couldn't speak ,nor could he hug .It is a pity that the girl paid no attention to the dragonfly who had devoted so much to her .The only thing the dragonfly could do was to bear her ignoring of him silently.In fact ,seeing her unhappy for looking for him,he was sad too,but he could do nothing ,only kept silent ,kept silent ...

      He wanted to use his tiny mouth to kiss her forehead ,but failed

      He wanted to use his wing to touch his pale face ,but failed

      He wanted to ...

      He wanted to do many things for her ..but nothing ..nothing could he do ...only ..keep silent ...

      The summer went away and the autumn came with a cold wind ,the dragongfly had to say goodbye to his girlfriend ,he had to leave or he would be dead .The last time ,he stopped on her shoulder ,he could do nothing ,wiping the tears ,thinking to himself that I would return as soon as possible when spring came, he flew away without the girl's goodbye .

      The dragonfly couldn't wait to return to look for his girlfriend with the spring coming .However ,he was shocked by the secene.He saw a tall and big man walking with his previous lover hand in hand instead of a single lonely girl for missing him.He was so sad that that he almost dropped from the air with a broken heart.

      He had to admit the boy has substituted him though he was unwilling to.He was unwilling to accept the truth,but in fact it is that :It is the boy that now goes out with his girlfriend ;It is the boy that  now accompanies the girl to see the sunrise and sunset ;It is the boy that now touched the girl's rosy cheeks .While he himself ---the dragonfly could do nothing except stopping on her shoulder occasionally .

      The dragonfly couldn't stand it anymore ,he chose to leave reluctantly...He couldn't bear the stranger embrace the girl's soft shoulder;He could't imagine the stranger kissing her rosy cheeks ;he could't recall years before that it was he not the stranger ...he really wanted to stop the time ..he really wanted to return to the past ..he didn't fly to see the girl as frequently as before ,since she was busy making an appointment with that man .She scarecely had any time to pay attention to the dragonfly ,let alone recalled the past or the boy ...

      How time flies .It is approaching his  date appointment with the God. While just before  his changing to man ,the girl got married with the person,and the church was the one that the dragonfly had praied in for the girl's recovery years ago.

      The dragonfly flew secrectly into the church ,this time he stopped on the God's shoulder instead .He heard his previous lover swore to the God :"I will !"He saw the stranger put the ring on her hand ,he couldn't control his sadness ,tears welled up silently  from his relatively bigger eyes ...

      The God let out a sigh:"Do you regret making that decision years ago ?"  "No."A simple answere..the God smiled :"Then ,you'll be yourself tommorrow .."  

       "God ,please don't .Please allow me to be a dragonfly forever .."the dragonfly begged for his allowance

       The God 's eyes became red and nodded
