border=0></A> <BR>日本正仓院保藏的唐刀图和唐刀局部放大图 <BR><BR> 横刀，最初传到日本的唐刀，其刀形是直形的刀，发展到后来逐渐被日本人变为了带着弧度的弯曲着的刀形，而现在的日本刀其刀形在刀身上是带着弧度的弯曲着的刀形。 <BR><BR> 横刀，也就是现在所称的“唐大刀”。横刀，为双手刀，是在汉朝的“环首刀”的基础上加以改进而研制的，去掉了在汉朝常见的刀柄尾部的环，并延长了短柄改为可以双手使用的长柄，使其变为可以双手使用的窄刃厚脊的长直刀，基本形状和现在的“日本刀”很象，但唐朝横刀的刀身及刀锋基本上都是直的，不象现在的常见的“日本刀”是带着弧度的弯曲着的，唐朝横刀的形状为直刀形状。可以说现在的“日本刀”的形状总体上就是完全抄袭中国的唐朝的“横刀”样式，虽然这对于喜欢标榜“日本刀”攻击力的日本人来说是种难堪，但是这的确就是真实的历史。横刀的锻造技术在当时世界上是极为先进的，锻造出来的刀锋锐无比，而且步骑两用，制造横刀的技术后来被日本学去，成就了日本刀后世的声名。
